The HETA Apprentice Program
HETA has been training young men and women in the engineering fields for 43 years. Our program is designed to provide all the necessary skills required for our apprentices to work for various companies from the first day. Do you have what it takes?
All applicants undergo a rigorous and innovative 'six step' selection process that is designed to achieve two aims.
- To ensure that the potential apprentice is of the calibre required by the HETA clients.
- To ensure that the applicants themselves are fully aware of what is involved in their choice of career.
The first criteria required is that the applicant has, or is predicted to achieve, GCSE Grade C or above in at least four subjects including Maths, English and Science.
The applicant then meets with HETA staff on four occasions for ability testing, workshop assessment, behavioral assessment and an interview.
When the applicants have come through these stages successfully they are invited to attend an open day. The open day gives the applicants the opportunity to talk to prospective employers and enables our client companies to meet potential apprentices. Applicants details are then put forward for selection to the companies who will sponsor their training.
