We are seeking experienced tutor/trainer ready to take the next step in their career by becoming a Department Team Leader for Fabrication and Welding, reporting to the Centre Manager. In this hybrid role you will lead a team of instructors to plan and deliver various apprenticeships in fabrication and welding trades such as, Metal Fabricator, Pipe Welder and Pipefitter, etc, and commercial courses whilst also being responsible for some delivery. You will inspire and guide the next generation of engineers, sharing your expertise and industry knowledge to develop their skills, knowledge, and behaviours. No two days are the same, offering a dynamic and rewarding work environment.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and update the curriculum to meet industry standards.
Lead the delivery of courses, including apprenticeship training and commercial courses which includes:
Manage the daily operation of HETA workshops, ensuring compliance with Health & Safety regulations.
Assist Centre Managers in regard to team performance management, appraisals, and professional development.
Ensure the department is Ofsted-ready by monitoring learner progress, attendance, and success rates. Assist Centre Managers to compile Self-Assessment Reports (SAR) and Quality Improvement Plans (QIP).
Liaise with the Sales Team to build links with employers to secure work placements, apprenticeships, and ensure curriculum currency. Generating income through the development of commercial training, which includes being the HETA lead TWI Welding Inspector.
Oversee student discipline and pastoral care, ensuring learners are "work-ready".
Experience and Qualifications
If it is required, the successful candidate needs to be willing to undertake additional qualifications. The cost of which will be met by HETA Ltd.
Location and Travel
This position requires regular travel to all HETA sites. A valid driving license and access to your own transport is essential as regular travel between centres will be necessary. Mileage and bridge tolls will be covered by HETA.
