SMart Futures Testimonials
“SMart Wind are delighted with the results HETA have achieved over the first year of the SMart Futures programme. Reaching and inspired over 2,000 pupils to consider jobs and careers in offshore wind and renewable energy is an astounding outcome and is testimony to the effort, enthusiasm and dynamism throughout the entire HETA team. Feedback from the schools and other regional stakeholders has all been positive and already HETA are bringing ideas and suggestions as to how SMart Futures can deliver an even greater positive impact through year two.”

"Mike's energy, knowledge and enthusiasm really engaged the Year 8 students who spent an enjoyable morning designing wind turbines. The special event gave them a real insight into sustainable energy for the future, helped them to achieve their Crest Bronze Awards and left them buzzing for days afterwards. "

“Our students thoroughly enjoyed undertaking the Smart futures activity with Mike and the team of apprentices from HETA. It was great for students to put their science, enterprise and engineering curriculum skills into practice whilst also learning about career opportunities in the Humber region in the future. Thanks for a great day.”

“I would just like to say how impressed my year 9 students were with the work they did with Mike and his team, you could say they were 'blown away' . I'm impressed because even today when doing chemical reactions and introducing the idea of large surface area one of the students linked it directly to the large surface area of the wind turbines.
A number of theses days I have previously been involved with did not always hit the mark as the presentations were aimed at to wide an audience, this was not so in this case as it was well planned and presented offering a range of activities and showed genuine progression throughout the day.
Thanks again to Mike and the team”
