HETA Workshop Manager (Stallingborough) Since August 2008, Dean had been workshop manager of both Tata Scunthorpe and CATCH and from December 2011 took control of the Scunthorpe site.

Dean started his career as an apprentice Marine Fitter for Richard Dunstons in 1980, and after successfully completing his apprenticeship he moved on to work for ICI Fibres/Du Pont at Doncaster in 1986 .

Whilst working as a maintenance engineer he further enhanced his skills and knowledge by working on various projects, eventually leaving in 1994 to further an ambition to run his own business in servicing and maintaining a variety of commercial vehicles and plant machinery, which he did successfully until being approached to work as a service engineer for FAUN Municipal in 2001.
 

Within a few months Dean was promoted to workshop Forman running a highly skilled team of engineers involved in the repair and maintenance of municipal and heavy goods vehicles.
This then lead to a position as a Depot manager and later in 2006 he became Northern Contracts Manager for FAUN Municipal which he continued until pursuing a career in engineering training with HETA in Jan 2008.
 

Dean is now enjoying using his 30 years experience in mechanical engineering, health and safety and management, in order to make a difference to the future engineering needs of the many successful trainees that engage with HETA.
