This course is for new and experienced supervisors and first line managers with little previous training. Those with temporary supervisor duties (e.g. during periods of shutdowns\outages) will benefit too.
 

Course Content - SMTD Foundation covers managing self, others and resources, effective communication, health & safety and essential employment law and industrial relations.
 

Point and Purpose
• To help managers and supervisors understand differences between leadership and management and the role in the workplace
• Interpret and respond to situations requiring different leadership styles, understand techniques to motivate a work team
• Manage their own personal workplace effectiveness through time management, planning and delegation techniques
• Understand communication techniques and apply these effectively
• Grasp the essentials of efficient and effective meeting at day to day, operational and project meetings
• Understand the legal responsibility supervisors have for health & safety and employment law and have an overview of the industry.
