HETA recognised for achieving outstanding End Point Assessment results

29th September 2021

NOCN Group and HETA have worked in partnership since the inception of End Point Assessment (EPA) and the introduction of Apprenticeship Standards almost five years ago. Over time, HETA has established itself as one of the country’s leading providers of Engineering and Manufacturing Apprenticeships.

“In the last academic year, (2020/21) the performance of apprentices from HETA particularly in the Maintenance & Operations Engineering Technician standard, is one of note.” says Thomas Burton, Group Director at NOCN Group.

“The apprentices at HETA consistently achieve higher grades in EPA of both Merit and Distinction, which is a testament to the contributions made by their employers, but also the high quality of teaching, learning and mentorship that an apprentice receives while at HETA.

In consideration of these high standards and results, NOCN Group is pleased to recognise HETA as a provider of High-Quality Apprenticeships”

Apprentices complete their EPA at the end of their third year or when they are ready to complete their apprenticeship. The EPA tests that an apprentice has the knowledge, skills and behaviours in order to perform their job effectively. AT HETA, an apprentices EPA will consist of a technical interview, an online exam, as well as completing a portfolio of their work in company.

“Working with NOCN as our prime partner to deliver EPA for us across several standards has been a massive learning curve for both sides.” says HETA Operations Manager, Matthew Gardner.

“It’s fantastic recognition from the team at NOCN that our learners are excelling on their EPA, and validates all the hard work and efforts that the HETA and NOCN EPA development team have put in over the years building up to this first major cohort of completers, in particular on the Maintenance & Operations Engineering Technician standard.

This recognition as a provider of High-Quality Apprenticeships is something we at HETA are very proud of and hope to repeat and improve in the years ahead as the EPA process evolves. Thank you to the NOCN team”
