HETA have recently invested £120k in their site at Scunthorpe. Work took place over the summer on refurbishment of the existing office, workshop and classrooms/IT space as well as welfare facilities including lunch and break areas.
Ian Hemmingway, Health, Safety & Environmental Manager, played a large role for the refurbishment : "From being involved with the move to Dansom Lane and seeing the huge improvement of the facilities now offered to staff, learners and delegates an upgrade of HETA Scunthorpe seemed an obvious choice."
"I pitched the project plan to the full management team in April and a unanimous decision was agreed. A team was brought together and the planning began of what would be included within the refurbishment. The main aim was to bring the site up to a standard that reflected the corporate brand set at Hull. To achieve this the site has undergone a full revamp from top to bottom, there has also been an improvement of the facilities to improve the learners experience and it also gave an opportunity to undertake some compliance work with the electrics.
The site is now complete and the feedback we have received from both learners, delegates and visitor has been amazing. I encourage you if you have not already been, to pay a visit and see for yourself the difference that the work has made."
Jodi King, Administrator at Scunthorpe, commented on the what it is like to work at the site, "Now that the refurbishment is complete it’s amazing to look around the centre and see how much hard work and effort has been put into it by everyone involved.
The centre looks completely different, so fresh and modern. Working at the site whilst it was undergoing the refurbishment was interesting, I actually typed under a cover sheet one day! It definitely feels different working here now, everyone is taking more care of it, making sure it’s being looked after."
