Greenpower Project - E Race Car
Recently some of the apprentices at HETA had the opportunity to participate in the Greenpower Education Trust race car event at Blyton Park.
Greenpower Education Trust is a UK based charity that aims to get young people enthusiastic about science and engineering by challenging them to design, build and race an electric car.
The end goal of doing this is to help address the engineering skills gap in a fun and engaging way.
Each year more than 10,000 students take part, with over 700 teams throughout the UK and hold 35+ regional events and an International Final each year.
We’re pleased to announce we came 5th place in the race, after some quick pitstops and a tremendous effort from our Mechanical Instructor Sean Edwards and the apprentices for creating a Greenpower race car capable of staying fully functional throughout the duration of the 1-hour event.
Congratulations to everyone involved, and hopefully we’ll be entering again next year.
