We’ve recently teamed up with Tayto, the third largest snack manufacturer in the UK, to introduce a new pathway of learning to help progress their workforce’s professional development.
Starting in April 2022, employees at Tayto had the opportunity to embark on a pathway of learning to enhance their skillset within the workplace. Tayto, in partnership with Humberside Engineering Training Association (HETA) designed a programme that focused on the upskilling of their front-line Operators. The end goal of this programme will allow them to perform low level Maintenance tasks utilising the theoretical and practical skills learnt. By performing this function, it benefits the business by a reduction in downtime, but more importantly improves the skills of the Operators who are rewarded with increased pay rates and the possibility of future career progression within Tayto.
Justin Ellis, Tayto’s Scunthorpe Factory Manager stated “We are at very early stages with this evolution – but the signs are positive, and the business is committed to continually improving the programme and delivering its commitment to enable career development and a culture which rewards for learning.
