We were proud to welcome two members of the Hull 4 Heroes team today, to present the donations of a fundraising event organised by the student council here at HETA.
Each year the charity hosts countless fundraising events across the country, to raise money for homeless veterans, helping them transition back into civilian life and regular employment. A study suggests that between 100 and 400 veterans sleep rough every year and a further 3,000 – 4,000 face homelessness. Hull 4 Heroes aims to reduce these figures, providing resources, homes, education and employment through their extensive network, work ethic, and desire to combat this growing issue.
Spearheaded by Lewis White (a level 3 electrical & instrumentation engineering apprentice from Drax), the project raised over £370 through a bun sale, a raffle, and a Christmas jumper day.
Great work by everyone involved in the fundraising event, including the supporting staff Gail Roberts and Scott Rorrison, and we look forward to working with Hull 4 Heroes again in the future.
