Take your first step into teaching and training.

Whether you're an experienced engineer looking to share your knowledge or a workplace expert preparing to train others, this course provides the perfect introduction to teaching in further education and industry.

12 days
£450 (+ vat) per person

Course details

Designed for those who are new to teaching, this qualification has no teaching practice requirements, making it ideal for individuals who are not currently in a teaching or training role.

Throughout the programme, you'll develop a clear understanding of the roles and responsibilities of an effective trainer, while building the confidence to plan and deliver engaging, inclusive learning sessions. You'll also learn how to assess learners effectively, provide constructive feedback, and create a positive learning experience that supports every individual's development.

By the end of the course, you'll have the essential knowledge and skills to begin your journey as a teacher or workplace trainer, with a nationally recognised qualification to support your next career step.

Course information

During this course you will learn -

  • the roles, responsibilities, and professional relationships involved in education and training
  • inclusive teaching and learning methods, and how to apply them effectively
  • the principles of assessment and how to use them to support learner progress

Qualification achieved - City and Guilds Award in Education - Level 3

Entry requirements

  • You must be 19 or over to enrol on this course
  • GCSE Grade (C/4) and above in maths and English (or equivalent).

3 hours per week over 12 weeks
