Who Should Attend?

This course is suitable for:

• Electrical and instrumentation technicians preparing for CompEx Ex01–04.

• Individuals with previous glanding experience who require additional practice.

• Technicians returning to hands-on installation work after a period away.

• Candidates who want to improve their practical skills before undertaking formal CompEx assessments.

Course Content

The workshop will focus on practical skills, including:

• Selection and identification of appropriate cable glands.

• Safe preparation and stripping of armoured cables.

• Correct fitting and assembly of cable glands.

• Cable termination techniques.

• Use of appropriate tools and equipment.

• Identifying common installation errors and improving workmanship.

Learning Outcomes

By the end of the workshop, candidates should be able to:

• Demonstrate improved confidence in cable preparation and glanding.

• Practise correct installation techniques using appropriate tools.

• Identify and correct common glanding errors.

• Recognise areas requiring further practice before attending CompEx Ex01–04.

Assessment and Certification

This is a practical training workshop rather than a formal CompEx qualification. Candidates will receive instructor feedback on their practical performance and areas for further development.
