Humberside Engineering Training Association (HETA) is a dynamic and expanding Group Training Association (GTA) with training centres in Hull, Grimsby, and Scunthorpe. We specialise in providing Level 3 & 4 engineering apprenticeships, higher education, and upskilling courses to over 300 client companies.

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Lead Internal Quality Assurer (IQA) who will be responsible for organising and maintaining the internal quality assurance processes across the organisation’s training and assessment provision.

The role ensures that assessment decisions are fair, valid, reliable, and consistent, and that provision meets the requirements of awarding organisations EAL, City & Guilds, ECITB, TWI, JTL (CompEx), Pearsons EDEXCEL Higher National Programs and Apprenticeship End Point Assessment provision sits separately to this role with the Head of Higher Nationals Programmes and Field Team Manager respectively.

The Lead IQA provides support to IQAs, assessors, and trainers, embedding a strong quality culture and driving continuous improvement.

The successful candidate will have experience in a similar role within an education setting preferably with an engineering background.

They will have good craft/technical skills, good interpersonal skills, basic computer skills and more than five years in a similar role.

To be successful the candidate must hold a recognised IQA qualification (eg Level 4 Award in the IQA of Assessment Processes and Practice or equivalent.

They must hold a teaching qualification and qualifications in an engineering trade discipline to a minimum of level 3.

Other essential experience must include significant experience as an IQA within a training provider environment, strong knowledge of awarding organisation requirements and external quality assurance and experience of leading standardisation and quality improvement activity.


Location & Travel

The position will be based at our Hull site with travel to our other sites will be necessary hence a valid driving licence and access to a vehicle is essential.
